William J. DAVIS died at his home south of Crawfordsville last Wednesday night age 43 years. He was a telegraph operator by trade. - kbz

Wednesday night at 11 o’clock, Wm J. Davis died at the home of James Barnes, just south of town. Mr. Davis had been an invalid for some time but his condition was not regarded as critical until a few days ago. He was about town only last week, although in a greatly enfeebled condition. Mr. Davis was forty three years of age and was a telegraph operator. He was at one time the operator at the junction and later was the agent of the Vandalia at Rockville. He leaves a wife and a young son, who have been making their home of late with Mrs. Davis’ father in Ripley Township.
The funeral occurred this afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment was at Oak Hill. Mr. Davis was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of this city and also a member of the society of Modern Woodmen. In the latter society he had $2,000 life insurance which goes to his wife. - s
